# First message

Here you will learn how to set up a greeting in response to the user's very first message.

The event fires when a user first writes to you in a group or channel. 

Thus, for an individual, it is disposable. You can set up a greeting, a warning, a bonus issue, or familiarization with the rules, if necessary.
